Brighouse Sign Duo
2nd June, 2009
Brighouse Town boss Mark Brier has wasted little time in improving his squad, with the addition of some new blood at St Giles Road.
Brier has swooped to land 27-year-old midfielder or defender Andy Markham from NCEL Premier Division side Winterton Rangers, who finished fifth last season, as well as clinching the signature of Kieran Corley, a promising young striker from Liversedge who represents the county at under 18 level.
"I've known Andy since we were both at Halifax Town and he's a classy player that will always do a good job for the team," Brier told the Halifax Evening Courier.
"His attitude is second to none, he's committed in both training and matches and is a great example to others.
"Andy had a couple of offers from higher level clubs, but after a chat with myself and the chairman, I know he was impressed with where we are trying to take the club on and off the field and I'm absolutely delighted he's agreed to join us."
Corley is a young but strong forward who has scored regularly at both under 19 and first team level for Liversedge in the Premier Division.
"Kieran has natural raw talent and an eye for goal," added Brier. "He will add value to the team and also learn a lot from the other good players we have at our club."

Brighouse Grab Major Sponsor
27th April, 2009
Brighouse Town have announced that they have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Dual Seal Glass Ltd to be their first team shirt sponsor.
In what is a first for the club, their St Giles Road ground will now be known as the Dual Seal Stadium as part of the agreement.
Dual Seal Glass Ltd, of Huddersfield, is one of the UK's leading independent processors of high performance glass for the construction industry.
They have supplied all the glass for the Chelsea FC state-of-the-art training facility in Cobham, Surrey, the new MK Dons stadium at Milton Keynes and the new Huddersfield University building on the ring road.
The firm says it is delighted to be getting behind Brighouse Town.
Club chairman, Chris Lister, said: "We were looking for a new main sponsor to come on board to help us complete the necessary ground work we had agreed to undertake to be allowed to enter the Northern Counties East League.
"The deal with Dual Seal has allowed us to complete that work and now we are looking at the next step of adding public toilets and covered standing for 100 people at the ground which would give us a facility that would pass the Premier Division criteria.
"I would like to thank Dual Seal Director Nigel Meredith for his support in helping us towards our aim to build Brighouse Town into a club the local community can be proud of."

Town Snap Up James
22nd August, 2008
Brighouse Town have bolstered their squad with the capture of Nathan James, an experienced forward who played in Blue Square North last season.
The former Harrogate Town and Harrogate Railway striker will be brought immediately into their squad for the weekend fixtures at Pontefract Collieries and then at home to Scarborough Athletic.
Town also hope to have his brother, Wayne, back in contention after a recent niggling achilles injury.
