Brigg Town have announced that Nathan Peat is their new first team manager following the departure of Marcus Newell by mutual consent.
The news comes at the end of a season that saw the Zebras lift a county cup and narrowly miss out on promotion to the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
A statement released on social media read: "The club would like to thank Marcus and his management team for the work they achieved, resulting in a third-placed league finish and winning the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy.
"We felt we needed to move quickly in our next appointment and we are delighted to announce Nathan Peat as the new first team manager."
Peat, who swaps playing in defence for Brigg with a place in the dug-out, thanked club officials "for giving me this opportunity to manage at such a great club."
He added: "I’ve been at the club in two different spells as a player and enjoyed my time but now was the perfect timing and opportunity for me to try and be a success at management.
"Since returning for a second spell, I’ve seen the changes made behind the scenes, the effort that goes into making Brigg a family club.
"And, that’s a club which really makes me want to be a part of."
