Nostell pitch improvements continue
27th May, 2015
Work will start this week on more drainage work on the two main pitches at Nostell Miners Welfare's Crofton Community Centre base.
Last summer, extensive drainage work costing approximately ?90,000 was carried out.
However, there were still serious problems during the winter months and Nostell are grateful to the major funders, Sport England and the Football Foundation, for the additional cash to install further drainage and the usual end of season renovations.
Unfortunately, because the work is only just starting the pitch will not be ready for any pre-season friendlies.
Manager Paul Lines, who along with chairman Simon Turfrey has decided to stay at the club after initially stepping down earlier this month, is seeking anyone who can host Nostell for a pre-season match.
He said: "We will reciprocate next season when hopefully we will have one of the best surfaces in the league."
Any club who can help Nostell out is asked to email nostellmwfc@hotmail.com.
