Miller is Brewers new boss
20th May, 2015
Tadcaster Albion have unveiled former Harrogate Railway Athletic boss Billy Miller as their new manager.
He replaces Paul Marshall who guided the Brewers to third in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table this season as well as reaching the Sixth Round of the FA Vase and the Semi-Finals of the League Cup and West Riding County Cup.
Miller, who took Railway to a record eighth position in the Evo-Stik League First Division North on a limited budget, is currently working towards his UEFA A Licence and he told the club's website: "I'm delighted to be the new manager of Tadcaster Albion.
"I've been very impressed by the ambition of the club, its owners and supporters, and I look forward to helping make further improvements both on and off the field.
"It was a difficult decision to leave Harrogate Railway, where I've spent three happy years. I have very much enjoyed working with the Chairman Nigel Corner, and leave with his blessing, but since meeting with the owners I realise the ambitions of Tadcaster Albion match my personal ambitions."
Miller was chosen after a week-long interview process conducted by Tadcaster's owners, i2i, whose Sports Directors said: "We're absolutely delighted to welcome Billy to Tadcaster Albion.
"We were overwhelmed by the volume and the quality of applicants for the manager's role, but Billy's credentials stood out to us. Billy is renowned for his man-management skills and getting the best out of his players.
"He has an extensive knowledge of the leagues, and we were very impressed with his attitude towards the game, as well as his ambition and vision for Tadcaster.
"We're very much looking forward to working with him in helping to build on the foundations that have already been laid at this great club."
