Chairman and manager leave Nostell

11th May, 2015

Nostell Miners Welfare want to appoint a new manager ?as soon as possible? after the shock departure of Paul Lines.

Lines along with club chairman Simon Turfrey, left the club yesterday, despite efforts to persuade them to stay at Crofton.

Lines cited Turfrey's departure as the key reason for his decision.

A spokesman said: "We are very saddened because both Paul and Simon have done an excellent job.

"Since he was appointed in November, Paul has lifted us off the bottom of the table and taken us to our highest league finish in four years.

"He also provided us with a memorable night at Rotherham United by guiding us to the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup final for the first time in our history.

"Simon has been a rock as a chairman, but we appreciate that he has growing business interests and reluctantly accept his resignation.

"We won't forget their efforts and we wish them all the best for the future.

"We have to move on quickly though and appoint a new manager as soon as possible.

"We believe the vacancy is an exciting opportunity because of our facilities at Crofton.

"Any money we do have we put it back into the facilities and we use our facilities as a way of attracting players.

"We would say our facilities are of a decent standard which will appeal to prospective managers."

Interested parties are asked to email nostellmwfc@hotmail.com with their CV.

The club are evaluating their options regarding the chairman's position following Turfrey's departure.
