Worksop Town have announced that one of its most famous sons, golfing superstar Lee Westwood, will be sponsoring the Tigers for the 2014/15 season.The logo of the Lee Westwood's Golf School will appear on the front of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side's home and away shirts next season.
Kev Keep, Chairman of the Worksop Town Supporters Trust, said the sponsorship deal would give everyone at the club a huge lift.
"It's fantastic news for the fans, and Worksop in general, to see such a high profile sportsman backing the Tigers," he said.
"His management team have been an absolute pleasure to work with."
Westwood told the
Worksop Guardian: "Worksop will always be my home, people will always associate me with my home town and I'm proud of my roots.
"I was sorry to hear that the town's football club were in such a perilous situation."
"Worksop Town are the world's fourth oldest club and their history and position in the heart of the community should be safeguarded."
The club have also thanked Graham Smyth and the Worksop Guardian who have helped the club secure the magnificent deal.
