Rangers to move to new ground
21st January, 2015
Hall Road Rangers have this week announced that they have secured a long term tenure with a new venue.
Rangers, who currently play their football at the Dene Park site, have announced that from the start of next season they will relocate all of their teams to their new home at Haworth Park.
The club, founded in 1959 by the late Ted Richardson has through its time in the leagues seen some great success and, after securing a long term lease at the new site, they plan to re-invent themselves as a true community football club.
Chairman Darren Sunley said: "I am very pleased to announce the move, there has been lots of speculation and rumour surrounding the club.
"We are the only official semi-professional club in the Hull area and at step six within the league pyramid and require a high standard of facility."
He continued: "Dene Park has been the home of Hall Road Rangers for many years but we feel now is time to move on with our own plans which will in turn allow the other teams we have been sharing with to grow their own new venture.
"Due to the number of teams we have, the site and its own commitments is not really adequate for our requirements and aspirations moving forward.
"The Haworth Park site requires some work to bring it up to the standards we require but we believe we can do this within the times scales we are working under."
The Hall Road club has undergone some big changes in the last twelve months with new first team management being brought on board and the committee wanting to steer the club in a community based direction.
They have said they want to engage the local community on matchdays and also provide other entertainment and they hope to provide a learning hub built around technology and sports.
The site will house over thirteen teams ranging from the young under 7s to the full first team who play in Toolstation NCEL Division One and on to the veterans.
