Taylor's Reign Comes to an End
14th September, 2014
Toolstation NCEL newcomers AFC Mansfield have announced that they have parted company with their manager Micky Taylor by mutual consent.
The news comes after Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Yorkshire Amateur which left them sixth in Division One.
A statement on the club's website said: "AFC Mansfield would like to put on record its sincere thanks to Micky for all that he has achieved at the club.
"In two seasons, Micky has helped the club win four trophies. In his first season, the club won their first ever trophy, the Notts Intermediate Cup which was quickly followed by the Central Midlands League Floodlit Cup and runners-up in the league and League Cup.
"Micky and his team gained promotion in his second season by winning the North Division and also claimed the League Cup whilst finishing runners-up in the Floodlit Cup.
"In eight games this season, the club have won five and lost three, including progression in the FA Vase."
Micky's last game in charge, along with his management team, will be the home game against Hall Road Rangers on Wednesday.
The club are now inviting written applications from people who have step 6 or above experience. Applicants should email Andy Saunders with a brief history of their experience to andrewasaunders@aol.com.
