Rossington Main have announced that goalkeeper Jordan Wildey has been selected for the Scotland national futsal squad. Jordan, 20, has been with the Main for four years, lately combining NCEL football with playing futsal for Sheffield United's Community Foundation.
Having been made aware of his eligibility, the Scottish FA invited Jordan to a recent trial day which was attended by some 100 players, mostly from the leading futsal clubs in Scotland.
During the trial, the hopefuls were whittled down to a final 25 who will form the squad for a series of national squad get-togethers over the next few months.
They will then play two friendly internationals over the holiday period before the UEFA Futsal Championships commence in January.
Jordan is a Doncaster born local lad who is eligible for Scotland via his father, the Main's goalkeeper coach Andy Cowe.
As such, his selection is a big honour for the Toolstation NCEL Division One club who Jordan acknowledges have played a significant role in his development and all at Rosso have wished him the very best of luck with his call-up.
