Double Award Delight for Owls
11th August, 2014
There were celebrations for Cleethorpes Town on Thursday evening after they picked up two accolades at the Lincolnshire FA awards ceremony at the Lincolnshire Showground.
For the second time in three seasons, the Owls received the Charter Standard Community Club of the Year award for Lincolnshire in recognition of the hard work its volunteers, managers and committee members do to provide a platform for 250 young players to play for the club at all levels, including its senior team in Toolstation NCEL Division One.
There was more success when club secretary Jevon Southam was awarded with the Volunteer of the Year for Lincolnshire award.
Jevon has been involved with the club for fourteen years, with the last twelve in his current role, and has helped it grow through work that goes unrecognised sometimes behind the scenes.
Chairman David Patterson was delighted, saying: "The award for the club shows that we continue to raise the bar in what we are looking to achieve both on and off the field of play.
"It is certainly a tonic to everyone involved with the club to show them that we're doing the right things.
"I could not be happier for Jevon who works behind the scenes solely for the benefit of the club and everyone at the club is pleased that this has been recognised."
The Owls have also thanked hard work of its committee, managers, coaches, players and their parents as, without everyone's involvement and commitment, these awards would not be possible.
