Rangers Fighting Fit for New Season
5th August, 2014
Hall Road Rangers players and staff got a surprise workout with Hull born lightweight boxer Tommy Coyle at his new Headstart Gym on Monday evening.
The event, organised by the Toolstation NCEL Division One side's chairman Darren Sunley in preparation for the start of the new season, was warmly received by all.
Ahead of their opening fixture on Saturday away at Rossington Main, manager Lee Hastings was happy to see his team put through their paces, saying: "This was a great session for the lads, all round great for team bonding, fitness gaining and morale boosting. Tommy is a great motivator and I hope the lads can use this moving forward."
The session, which it is hoped can become a regular fixture in the first team's training regime, proved to be a gruelling affair for some but, as Coyle himself said, "you put the hard work in here in the gym to reap the benefits on the field."
The hard work session was followed by a nutrition talk by Coyle who shared some of his eating secrets for a healthy athlete's body and lifestyle.
After the session, Rangers forward Jordan Cox said, "The lads all loved that, it will help enormously with team bonding and set us right up for the season to come."
