30th October, 2014
Nostell Miners Welfare moved off the bottom of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table for the first time since mid-September with a 2-0 win at Albion Sports in midweek.
First-half goals from Jermaine Moyce and Joe Walton made it seven points from their last six games and they've now climbed up to eighteenth spot with just one point separating the bottom four teams.
They go above Retford United who were without a game but now find themselves in the basement, Armthorpe Welfare who were beaten 4-0 at home by Thackley and Glasshoughton Welfare who drew 1-1 at Liversedge.
Liam Hudson and Mark Trueman were amongst the scorers for Thackley whilst Del Pollock's 89th minute equaliser for Glasshoughton cancelled out a first-half opener from Kieran Corley for their hosts.
Shaw Lane Aquaforce missed out on a chance to go top of the table after they were beaten 3-1 at Cleethorpes Town, Marc Cooper with two of the home side's goals, whilst the biggest victory was at Pickering Town as they thrashed visitors Maltby Main, 7-0, with Billy Logan, Joel Ramm and Joe Danby netting two each.
Two goals in two minutes from Luke Mangham and Joel Barnett saw Garforth Town come from behind to win 2-1 at home to Barton Town Old Boys whilst Heanor Town drew 1-1 at Parkgate and there were no goals between Athersley Recreation and Handsworth Parramore.
Clipstone are back up to second after their 3-1 win at Lincoln Moorlands Railway, Karl Colley and Matty Ord claiming the victory after Luke Shipman had cancelled out their opener from Jamie Smith.
Luke Anderson scored in stoppage time to snatch a point for Winterton Rangers in a 1-1 home draw with AFC Mansfield and Teversal were 2-0 winners over visitors Bottesford Town.
Selby Town produced a major upset in the Second Round of the West Riding County Cup as they beat Vanarama Conference North side Guiseley 4-3 on penalties in a match that finished 1-1 after extra-time.
Richard Medcalf put them ahead on nineteen minutes before the visitors restored parity just prior to the interval.
However, Eccleshill United bowed out with a 5-2 defeat at home to Farsley AFC and Shirebrook Town were knocked out in the First Round of the Derbyshire Senior Cup by a single goal at South Normanton Athletic.
