Handsworth Parramore kept their grip on top spot in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division as Sam Smith's brace helped them to a 2-1 home win over Barton Town Old Boys on Saturday.

He got his fifth and sixth goals of the season, sandwiching Gareth Barlow's 72nd minute strike for the visitors who are waiting for their first point of the season.

Heanor Town are up into second after making three wins out of three, Gary Ricketts and Courey Grantham netting for the Lions in their 2-0 victory at Garforth Town.

Comfortable home wins for Shaw Lane Aquaforce and Tadcaster Albion saw them climb up into fourth and fifth place, respectively.

There were 3-1 wins at home for Maltby Main and Staveley Miners Welfare, Liam Royles and Anthony Mackie with a quickfire double on the hour mark as Maltby beat Thackley whilst two late strikes from Matthew Thorpe saw Staveley triumph over Nostell Miners Welfare who have lost their opening four matches.
