Toolstation Cup This Weekend
24th July, 2014
The two sides involved in the first ever Toolstation Cup are making their final preparations ahead of the game at the weekend.
The inter-league clash between the NCEL's Knaresborough Town and the Western League's Bristol Manor Farm takes place at Staveley Miners Welfare's Inkersall Road ground this Saturday, ko 3pm.
Toolstation, the sponsor of both leagues, set up the game not only to offer an exciting new competition but also to raise money for two worthwhile charities, the RNLI and Asthma UK.
Entry to the game will be free but donations for both charities will be collected during the game. There will also be a half time raffle with great prizes including a Makita 4 piece kit worth over ?600.
Both of the clubs taking part say they are delighted at the opportunity of being able to play in the match.
Knaresborough manager, Brian Davey, said it is a great honour for the club to represent the NCEL in the Toolstation Cup, adding: "This game is a great idea and it puts two teams together which wouldn't normally play each other. It will be a good test for us pre-season."
Lee Lashenko, manager of Bristol Manor Farm, said he hopes the Toolstation Cup will become a regular event: "We would like to thank the very generous support of Staveley MW Chairman Terry Damms who has allowed us to play this game at his club's fine ground."
