Handley leaves Colls
12th November, 2015
Pontefract Collieries are inviting applications for the role of manager of their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side following the departure of Nick Handley.
A statement from the club said: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Nick for his input over the past few years as player, club captain and lately as manager.
"His contribution has been tremendous and we would not have achieved promotion without his efforts. We wish him all the best for the future.
"Following the club's advertisement last month, a new chairman has been recruited who we believe has the right qualities to help take the club forwards and provide us with financial stability.
"A further statement will follow on the new chairman in the next week or so but prior to that he has said that he wishes to bring in his own management team.
"He will therefore be conducting interviews within the next fortnight and recruiting people that he believes have the right skills and experience to take the club forwards.
"With approximately a thousand new houses being built around the Colls ground, the new chairman will oversee the necessary improvements to the club's infrastructure and facilities which will further its ambitions.
"Applications for the vacant first team manager's role are invited and should be sent to the club via email to the secretary Trevor Waddington at trevor@pontecolls.co.uk."

Colls require new chairman and secretary
23rd September, 2015
Pontefract Collieries require a new chairman and secretary due to the retirement of officials at the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division club this season.
Ideally, previous experience of running a football club at this level would be advantageous but full training and advice can be given to interested people.
The roles are at the very top level within a football club and require dedicated individuals who are up for taking on extremely demanding positions and responsibilities.
Pontefract Collieries has enjoyed a very successful year which resulted in gaining promotion and they are now looking for volunteers and business minded people to take on the club and build on the good results already achieved.
The club is also home to another twelve extremely successful teams including academy, juniors and a very large disability section.
It already has great nucleus of fantastic volunteers but, like every other football club around the country, it needs more.
Anyone interested is asked to contact the club on 07539 485170 or email trevor@pontecolls.co.uk.

Bray leaves Colls
14th September, 2015
Joint Manager Duncan Bray has given up his role at Pontefract Collieries.
After three seasons at the helm, he has tendered his resignation for personal reasons.
A club statement said: "Dunc has had an extremely successful time at Ponte both as a player and latterly as joint manager, leading the club to promotion back to the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division after sixteen years.
"However, off the field, he has a senior role in the NHS which has seen him spending most of his working week in London.
"That, coupled with the time demands of a young family, has resulted in Dunc finding it increasingly difficult to give time to running a football club and he has therefore taken the difficult decision to stand down from his role.
"Ponte would like to place on record their utmost thanks and gratitude to Dunc for everything he has done for the club, both on and off the field, and everyone at the club sends him their good wishes for the future."
Nick Handley will now take control of management of football at the club supported by Russ Eagle.
