Former Steelman becomes Parkgate boss
16th October, 2026
Jamie Housley has returned to Parkgate to become the club's new manager following Scott Mason's departure as boss in midweek.
Housley is a former player at the Steelmen and was part of Mason's backroom staff before moving into the dugout at ex-NCEL side Swallownest in the summer.
In a statement, Parkgate said Housley was the perfect replacement for Mason, also known as Nebsy, as Housley "brings a wealth of knowledge and we are excited about the future under him."
Housley's first statement as boss said: "It’s great to be back as the manager of the club that I have a close connection with for numerous reasons, I’m really appreciative of the opportunity that has been given to me by [chairman] Albert [Dudill] and [vice chairman] Ricky [Harris].
"It’s never easy leaving a club in the midst of a season but I am extremely thankful for how professional Swallownest FC have been.
"I wish them nothing but success in all that they do and I genuinely hope they continue their form for the playoff aims.
"I’m aware I have huge shoes to fill in what Nebsy has created over the last five years here and my aim is to get us back up the table and build on the foundations he’s created for many more years to come.
"I'm looking forward to getting back involved with the squad, some of whom I know already and also bringing in fresh faces and ideas.
"Your support is needed more than ever to get behind the lads as we look to change our fortunes."
