Rossington Main confirm Hunter to return

6th March, 2026

Rossington Main have confirmed that Ben Hunter has returned to the football club as joint first team manager as the side looks to improve results during the closing stages of the season.

Hunter, the most successful manager in the club’s history, will work alongside current boss Greg Young until the end of the campaign.

The club has also confirmed that Mick Fraser will return as fitness coach as part of the revised backroom setup.

In a statement, the club chairman acknowledged that the season so far has not met the standards expected at Rossington Main but stressed that the focus must now be on improving results in the final weeks.

After discussions with both managers in recent days, the chairman expressed his belief that the new arrangement gives the club the best possible opportunity to steady performances and move away from their current position in the table.

Hunter, a Rossington native, previously enjoyed significant success with the club and his return is seen as a major boost heading into the final stretch of the season.

His familiarity with the club, its players and the local community is expected to be a key asset as the team looks to turn things around.

The immediate focus for Rossington Main will be the final nine league games of the Macron NCEL Premier Division campaign, with the club calling on players, staff and supporters to unite behind the management team in the push to finish the season strongly.

The joint management arrangement between Hunter and Greg will remain in place until the end of the season, when the situation will be reviewed.
