The JCP Construction NCEL Cup in memory of James Hitchcock got underway for this season in midweek with Division One clubs taking centre stage in the First Round.
Home teams were dominant in the eight ties that took place with six progressing with victories on their own patch.
The two exceptions were Armthorpe Welfare who won 3-1 at Crowle Colts and Hemsworth Miners Welfare who defeated hosts Wakefield AFC on spot-kicks after a six-goal thriller.
It took 74 minutes for the deadlock to be broken in Armthorpe's favour at Windsor Park with Kyle Fish making the breakthrough before Jamie Simpson doubled their advantage and Thomas Joynt put the encounter beyond doubt with a penalty.
Kurtis Robinson pulled one back for Crowle in stoppage time but the damage had already been done as the visitors made it through to the Second Round.
Luke Budimir gave Hemsworth a 1-0 lead at Wakefield on twelve minutes but James Eyles' leveller ensured the scores were tied at the interval.
It stayed that way until midway through the second period when Harry Shepherd restored the visitors' advantage, Kenzie Dillion equalised once more for the hosts and Ify Ofoegbu had seemingly given Wakefield the win with their third in the 89th minute.
But, Bismark Osei popped up in injury time to make it 3-3 and take it to penalties in a shoot-out where Hemsworth prevailed 3-2.
Elsewhere, Ross Duggan struck twice for Goole AFC as they beat visitors Field Olympic 3-1 whilst Emre Can also claimed a double but his South Leeds side where beaten 4-2 at Immingham Town.
Declan McLaughlin, Joe Crowther, Alfie Day and Jack Humerstone got the goals for the hosts who led 3-0 before substitute Can's quickfire double brought the visitors back into the encounter.
A brace from Omar Sanyang helped Leeds UFCA to a 4-2 home victory over Appleby Frodingham after Callum Stenton had given the away side an early lead.
There were 3-0 wins for Kinsley Boys and Selby Town against Brigg Town and Wombwell Town, respectively.
Bradley Dockerty, Lucas Stubbs and Cory Woodward netted for Kinsley whilst Lleyton Brown, Scott Smith and Maximillian Bauer got on the scoresheet for the Robins.
And, LIV went through with a 2-0 home win over Athersley Recreation, Victory Ojei's penalty added to late on by a Ryan Whincup strike.
The second round of Macron NCEL Premier Division matches also took place in midweek bar one game as Handsworth's home clash with Barton Town was called off at the eleventh hour as traffic problems meant the visiting Swans were unable to get to the ground.
Only two sides have picked up two victories from their opening two games with Bottesford Town leading the way after a 10-0 demolition of visitors Keighley Town.
Owen Vincent scored four on a brilliant night for the Poachers whilst there was one goal each for Jaime Ture, Jack McMenemy, Scott Matthews, Jack Varley, Clayton Bryant and Jake Brown.
Joining them on six points are Dearne & District who won 4-1 at home to Penistone Church to make it a perfect start to the season after their promotion as Division One champions.

Horbury Town drew 0-0 at Thackley whilst Retford FC were 2-1 winners at Campion, Aaron Sennett-Neilson and Iren Wilson netting for the Choughs before Sonny Whittingham pulled one back for the hosts.
There were 1-0 wins for Tadcaster Albion, Charlie Owen with the decider at Parkgate, and for Albion Sports, Lewis Waddington the scorer for the Lions at Rossington Main.
And, Oliver Wilson and Ben Ashall ensured a 2-0 home victory for Retford United over Pickering Town.
