Sheffield have moved up into the Macron NCEL Premier Division play-off places after their 3-0 win at Eccleshill United in midweek.

Cameron Bedford's brace in the opening quarter of the match was added to in first half stoppage time to give them a comfortable victory that lifts them up into fifth with three games in hand on all of the sides around them in the table.

Golcar United and Bottesford Town eased their relegation fears a little as both picked up big wins against teams fighting with them to avoid the drop.

Oliver Russon broke the deadlock, George Doyle converted a penalty and Ashley Flynn also got on the scoresheet as Golcar beat next-to-bottom visitors Rossington Main 3-0 whilst Bottesford were successful by the same scoreline at Albion Sports.

Jack McMenemy, Okera Simmonds and Scott Matthews found the net for the Poachers to open up a five-point gap between themselves and the bottom two whilst their hosts remain just above the drop zone, a point ahead of Main.

And, Horbury Town also picked up a point in their quest to stay in the Premier Division, Joseph Angell's last-gasp equaliser earning them a 1-1 draw at Parkgate after Shay Evans-Booth had opened the scoring in the 65th minute.

Horbury are now three points clear of the trapdoor whilst the Steelmen stay in ninth.

The Division One title race has swung further in leaders Dearne & District's direction after their 3-1 win at relegation-threatened Nostell Miners Welfare means they are eleven points clear at the summit.

Charlie Austerfield had put the hosts ahead in the sixth minute but Adam Baskerville quickly equalised before Joshua Dacre and Jamie Austin swung the game in Dearne's favour in the second half.

Second-placed Wakefield AFC lost a little ground as they drew 0-0 with fellow promotion hopefuls Harrogate Railway Athletic at the Dagger Diving Stadium.

Zak Khan's goal tally for the season has risen to 61 as he struck twice more in Route One Rovers' 4-1 home victory over Appleby Frodingham to lift his side into sixth spot.

Reece Thompson and Umar Alizahoor also found the net for Rovers who are ten points away from the play-off zone whilst the away side got on the scoresheet thanks to a late own goal from Bubacary Conteh Samateh.

A double from Zavier Elkin-Sheppard, added to by one each from Michael Jones and Jamie Purkiss, saw Doncaster City win 4-0 at home to basement side Glasshoughton Welfare to climb up to fifteenth and ten points away from the relegation zone.

Michael Dunn's early strike was built on in the last ten minutes by Cole Patrick and Harry Sheperd as Armthorpe Welfare won 3-0 at Maltby Main.

And, it was 1-1 between Selby Town and their visitors Crowle Colts, Henry Cook with a second-half leveller from Henry Cook after Harry Clapham had given the Robins the lead before the interval.

Meanwhile, Beverley Town bowed out of the East Riding Senior Cup at the Semi-Finals stage as, despite goals from Andrew Norfolk and Harry Lovick, they drew 2-2 with Great Driffield before being beaten 4-2 on penalties in the tie played at the Roy West Centre.
