Macron NCEL 2025/26 Match Review #30

5th November, 2025

It was a relatively quiet midweek in the Macron NCEL with three matches taking place on Tuesday night but it included big home wins for Nostell Miners Welfare and Selby Town.

There was one Premier Division game and it ended honours even at the Barrett Steel Stadium as hosts Bottesford Town shared four goals with Golcar United.

The visitors were 2-0 up by the hour mark thanks to a George Doyle double but the Poachers rallied with Clayton Bryant bringing them back within touching distance and Okera Simmonds securing a point with a dramatic injury time equaliser.

Bottesford move up to seventeenth, two points away from the bottom two, and are one position and one point behind Golcar.

Nostell and Selby's victories, meanwhile, have moved them both to five points clear of the relegation places in Division One.

Matthew Hughes and Omar Karzan were the scorers for Nostell as they got a vital 2-0 win over Route One Rovers whilst Selby Town defeated visitors Maltby Main 4-0.

James Danby and Szymon Czubik gave the Robins a two goal advantage by the interval and they doubled their lead in the second period through Daniel Davison and Charlie Birdsall.

Meanwhile, there was one County Cup game scheduled but Beverley Town's home clash with Hull City in the Second Round of the East Riding Senior Cup was awarded to the NCEL Premier Division hosts in a walkover.
