The early leaders in the Macron NCEL Premier Division met on Tuesday night and the game was as tight as expected with a goalless draw between Barton Town and their visitors Tadcaster Albion.That result leaves Albion four points clear at the summit with the Swans keeping hold of second place after a full programme of top flight fixtures in midweek.
It was one of three 0-0 matches as
Liversedge came away with a point from
Frickley Athletic to move themselves up into third and it was also stalemate between
Horbury Town and
Parkgate who drop to eighteenth and seventh in the table, respectively.
Penistone Church were leapfrogged by Sedge after they went down 4-2 at
Knaresborough Town, Aaron White's double added to by Ben Gelder and Jack Lazenby to secure the hosts a victory that sees them up into fifth spot, three points behind Church whose goals came from Bradley Kemp and Leon Hurles-Brook.
Dominic Weston struck in stoppage time to grab
Pickering Town a 3-2 win at
Eccleshill United to climb the Pikes up into sixth after goals from Zackary Sangster and Hamza Diallo for the Eagles and from Souleymane Coulibaly and Nathan Dyer for the visitors had seemingly secured a point for both sides.
Handsworth were the biggest scorers as they put five past hosts
Albion Sports in a game that saw the home side go 2-0 up by the interval through Niall Heaton and Talent Ndlovu.
The Ambers, however, fought back with an Ellis Wade own goal setting them on their way before Mitchell Dunne's equaliser, two goals from Jordan Hines and a Jonathan Williams strike ensured a 5-2 victory.
Jack McMenemy netted twice to claim a 4-2 win for
Bottesford Town at Thackley whilst a Jordan Kershaw penalty and an Oliver Fearon goal led to a 2-1 home victory for
Wombwell Town at home to
Campion who grabbed a late consolation through Jamie Allsop.
Archie Micklethwaite's last gasp equaliser snatched a point for
Rossington Main in a 1-1 home draw with
Golcar United.
And, Kai Larkin did the same as
Beverley Town came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with visitors
Sheffield, Alfie Dodsworth and Alexander Hardwick scoring for the away side before James Piercy gave the hosts hope.
Dearne & District top Division One following their 2-0 home win over
Doncaster City, Atley Jackson and Luke Skelton finding the net either side of half time to give them a one point cushion at the summit over former leaders Harrogate Railway Athletic.
Bolton Makwedza was the only scorer as
Wakefield AFC defeated hosts
Winterton Rangers to move up into third spot whilst Rangers drop to the bottom, replacing
Nostell Miners Welfare who picked up their first victory of the season, Joseph Taylor with the winner as they prevailed 1-0 at
Appleby Frodingham.
And, a pair of penalties from James Woodhouse, added to by Kane Reece's strike, resulted in a 3-1 home win for
Ilkley Town whose goal came from Matthew Swift.
