New stand opens at Beverley this weekend

18th March, 2025

Beverley Town are marking this weekend’s Non-League Day in a particularly special way this season, with the opening of their new stand at the Grove Park end of their Norwood Park ground.

The Beavers welcome Campion for a hugely important NCEL Premier Division fixture on Saturday, with the hosts aiming to bolster their chances of reaching the play-offs, but, off the field, there is important work to be done as well.

Having only made their NCEL debut in the 2022-23 season, the club has been working hard on gradually upgrading the facilities at Norwood, and ensuring it is a club that supporters of both Beverley Town and all of their opponents look forward to visiting.

The ground upgrade will add just over 50 seats and capacity for more than 100 extra standing spectators in the new stand, and add to the viewing experience for those who like to watch from behind the goal.

A club spokesman said: "This is another great step forward for the club as we look to build an exciting present and a sustainable future for the club and for the town itself.

"We’re grateful for everyone who has got behind the project and put their time and effort into it, and it’s great that we can open the new stand on Non-League Day, when hopefully there’ll be a big crowd down.

"We’ve got plenty of fun activities on the day too as we look to attract lots of families down, with bouncy castles, face painting, competitions and more to look forward to.

"We are also delighted that Hull-born former professional boxer Tommy Coyle has agreed to open the new stand."

It has also been announced that there will be live commentary of Saturday's game on Beverley FM.
