Thompson steps down as Poachers boss

6th January, 2025

Bottesford Town have announced that Mike Thompson has resigned as manager of the NCEL Premier Division side.

His decision to step down was revealed by the Poachers on Sunday night, a day after their 4-2 loss at Silsden AFC had left them in sixteenth position in the table.

It brings to an end a twenty month spell in charge at the club for Thompson who was installed as boss in May 2023 (pictured).

The club's statement read: "Everyone at Bottesford would like to thank Mike for the hard work and dedication he has put into the club since becoming manager and we wish Mike nothing but the best for the future."

Assistant boss Leigh Herrick will take over the position for the remainder of the season.
