Baxendale steps down as Frickley boss
8th October, 2024
Frickley Athletic have announced that James Baxendale tendered his resignation at the weekend, which the NCEL Premier Division club has reluctantly accepted.
It followed Saturday's 4-2 home loss to Golcar United, a defeat that saw Frickley drop to seventeenth in the table, two points above the relegation zone.
Assistant Matthew Flanagan and coach Andrew Steptoe have also resigned from their posts.
A club statement said: "We’d like to place on record our gratitude to James, Matt and Andy for their efforts during their tenure at the club and we wish them nothing but success in the future.
"Jack Varley and Lewis Binns will be taking charge of the first team on an interim basis in preparation for our massive NCEL tie against Goole AFC on Saturday."
Anyone interested in applying for the role of first team manager should send their CV and cover letter to secretary@frickleyathletic.co.uk and the club will be in touch.
Any enquiries concerning the first team manager position should be directed to Phil Cooper at phil.cooper@frickleyathletic.co.uk or 07984 800058.
