Cobras search for new boss

19th February, 2016

Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Clipstone have begun their search for a new manager after Jas Colliver left the club to take over a side in the Evo-Stik League.

Chairman David Paling said: "James Colliver advised myself on Thursday 18th February that he was resigning as manager of Clipstone FC with immediate effect as he has accepted an offer to become manager of Sheffield FC.

"I would like to thank Jas for all his hard work and for making Clipstone a successful attacking football side in our first season in the NCEL Premier Division."

Jason Truscott has taken temporary charge until a successor has been appointed and those wishing to apply for the role is asked to send their CV and covering letter to David at sterlinghomes1@yahoo.co.uk.

Meanwhile, Colliver said of his departure: "It's been a difficult decision but one I feel I had to make to further my career and challenge myself at Evo-Stik level.

"Since meeting the Clipstone chairman, his wife and the committee I have had the utmost respect for them and this has encouraged me to go the extra mile to achieve and be a success for their club.

"Chairman Dave Paling invited myself to meet with him after the departure of their previous management team and it's fair to say the moment we started our conversation it was clear he had Clipstone FC at heart and is a top bloke.

"Myself and Ryan [France] agreed to accept the responsibility of guiding CFC in their first season at NCEL Premier Division level and we begun by arranging pre-season friendlies, encouraging sponsorship, speaking to players, appointing a physio and then meeting with the committee members.

"At the time of our appointment, we were picking up after a mass exodus from the club with one player staying and agreeing to play in season 2015/16.

"Throughout my time at CFC, I believe we have created a squad/club that is ready to compete with the top six, something shown in our performances and results on the pitch as well as getting it right off the pitch.

"We have had so many great results where others had written us off but, down to the desire of the players, we have sparked a few shocks along the way.

"To everyone at Clipstone, I enjoyed the journey and I believe this will be a club of interest due to your healthy league position, current crop of players and a magnificent chairman and committee members."
