Baxendale is back at Armthorpe
10th October, 2024
James Baxendale has returned to Armthorpe Welfare to start his second spell as manager at the NCEL Division One club.
Baxendale, whose professional playing career included spells at Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers, Walsall and Mansfield Town, first took charge at the Marra Falcons Stadium in August 2023.
After he was successful in avoiding relegation and keeping the club at Step 6 for this season, he was appointed boss at Premier Division side Frickley Athletic in May.
It was announced earlier this week that Baxendale had stepped down from his role at Frickley but he was not away from the sidelines long with a quick return to management with his previous club in an announcement on Wednesday night.
Matthew Flanagan and Andrew Steptoe, who were his assistants previously at Armthorpe and at Frickley, join him once again in the dugout with Chris Holden and Brad Walton completing the line-up.
Their first game in charge will be a home league match against Selby Town this Saturday (12th), kick-off 3pm.
