Dearne & District part company with manager
31st July, 2024
NCEL Division One newcomers Dearne & District have announced that manager Jason Blunt has left his role at the club.
The news comes two games into their inaugural season following promotion from the Central Midlands Alliance League, having drawn their first match at home with Swallownest on Saturday and then picking up a victory at Dronfield Town on Tuesday night.
Speaking on social media, chairman Antonio Jamasb said: "Jason has been on a massive journey with us as a club over the last fifteen months.
"He came in with the target to get us promotion to the NCEL, and he smashed it out of the park.
"Over this journey, he has shown us how we should run; he implemented new ideas and strategies and shaped an identity for the team.
"His methods and structure were honed through his experience in the professional game, which he applied in his own way at the club.
"We moved from a grassroots team to a semi-pro side with high standards that we wanted to achieve.
"From training to match preparation to the whole match day experience, Jase has been key in pushing our standards and levels.
"He has not only built an amazing team, he has built a professional management structure and group to ensure we offer these standards and expectations for all to see when they come to the Welfare Ground.
"We want to place on record how thankful we are to Jason and what he has built. How we act and the standards he has set us to follow.
"As chairman, I can say it has been an absolute pleasure to work with him, and I have learned so much from him.
"Speaking tens of times a day, I can honestly say I have never met anyone with as much drive and passion as him, and I am sad to see him go.
"But, I promise we will remain true to those standards he has set and will continue to deliver to them.
"Thank you, Blunty, for some truly amazing memories; we wouldn't be where we are without you."
