Hewlett to step down as chairman

27th March, 2016

Terry Hewlett has announced he is stepping down as chairman of Toolstation NCEL Division One club Knaresborough Town after more than twenty years in the role.

In a statement released on the Manse Lane outfit's website, he said: "This is certainly one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make and one I can assure I gave much thought to.

"To say I have been proud and privileged to be chairman of Knaresborough Town for over twenty years now is an understatement of the highest magnitude. In fact, words cannot describe the pride I feel.

"I have enjoyed the terrific support and comradeship of so many good people that it is impossible to begin to mention names here.

"This club has been a part of my life now for many many years - as a player, committee member and chairman.

"When I look back at how far we have come, both in terms of the infrastructure of the club and ground coupled with the progress of the teams and the quality of the football now produced, then I cannot help but feel immensely proud.

"Of course, none of this would have been possible without your loyal support, again for this I am immensely grateful and I am absolutely confident your support for the club will continue long into the future.

"In short, I feel it is now time to and spend a bit more time with Ann and Colette.

"I know I can count on your support for whoever 'picks up the baton' and "Keep Behind the Club That's Going Forward!"
