Gerry Spencer Memorial Trophy this week
27th July, 2015
Winterton Rangers will take on former Toolstation NCEL side Appleby Frodingham for the Gerry Spencer Memorial Trophy this Wednesday (29th July).
The game, which it is hoped will become an annual event, is to celebrate the life of Gerry Spencer who gave over forty years service to non-league football before his untimely passing last year.
He took over as secretary of Appleby Frodingham in 1969 before moving to Winterton Rangers in 1986 and Rangers are looking forward to welcoming supporters and the many friends of Gerry to West Street for the fixture.
Sponsored by Winterton Iron and Newton Printing Services, the match kicks off at 7:30pm and entry is ?3 adults, ?1 children.
There will be a special match programme and a raffle with all proceeds from the game going towards two charities, Prostate Cancer UK and the British Heart Foundation.
