Holders Beverley Town's defence of the JCP Construction NCEL Cup in memory of James Hitchcock has come to an end after a Second Round defeat in midweek.Twelve of the fifteen ties were played with Beverley bowing out after a 3-1 home defeat to Macron NCEL Premier Division rivals
Albion Sports in a game that saw the Lions take a 2-0 lead midway through the first half through Ben Whelan and Hamza Hamdosh.
Cameron Connelly brought the hosts back into the game with twelve minutes remaining but Nathan Cartman made sure of the win for his side as he struck their third in stoppage time.
Route One Rovers provided the biggest upset as the Division One outfit beat Premier Division visitors
Parkgate 7-1, Umar Alizahoor's hat-trick added to by a Zak Khan brace and one each for Mohammed Kanyi and Raeece Ellington whilst Harley Moore netted for the Steelmen.
A hat-trick from Lewis Barlow helped
Liversedge to a 5-0 home win over
Maltby Main with their other goals coming courtesy of Kelan Swales and Alfie Dean.
There were also home victories for
Rossington Main,
Sheffield and
Handsworth as all three Premier Division sides prevailed against Division One opposition.
Oliver Nowak's double added to an opener from Dylan Mantle as Rossington beat
Selby Town 3-1, Charlie Birdsall with a late consolation for the Robins.
Harry Mitchell struck twice as Sheffield defeated
Crowle Colts 3-2, Connor Cutts with their other goal whilst Thomas Moulds and Joe Hare made sure it was a tight affair at the Home of Football Stadium.
And, Fernando Tavares got both of
Handsworth's goals as they progressed to the last sixteen with a 2-0 victory over
Leeds UFCA.
There were two goals each for Alfie Wilkinson and Callum Petch as
Golcar United booked their place in the Third Round by beating hosts
Barton Town and
Eccleshill United won 5-1 at
Goole AFC with Hamza Diallo and Mark Ferguson also both netting twice.
Benjamin Dyer got all of
Doncaster City's goals as they prevailed 3-1 at
Nostell Miners Welfare and
Campion went through by a single goal at
Wombwell Town, Ewan Gregson with the 21st minute decider.
Pickering Town beat hosts
Penistone Church 2-1, both of their goals from George Thewlis sandwiching a Samuel Scrivens equaliser for the home side.
And, the match between
Harrogate Railway Athletic and
Ilkley Town ended goalless with the Rail going through 5-3 on spot kicks.
Meanwhile, there were two games in Division One with
Armthorpe Welfare moving up into fifth position after a 3-2 victory at
Appleby Frodingham.
Nathan Jarman put App-Frod in front in the opening minutes but a quickfire treble from the away side, Harry Charlotte, Alfie Charlotte and Nathan Garfoot finding the net in a four minute period, meant Armthorpe led 3-1 by halfway through the opening period.
Jarman grabbed a second late on but his side could not find an equaliser and they drop to nineteenth, overtaken by
Athersley Recreation who drew 1-1 at
Louth Town.
James Byford converted a penalty in stoppage time to grab the Rec a point after Harley Thompson had given the White Wolves a 32nd minute lead.
