Beverley Town will face Knaresborough Town in the Final of this season's JCP Construction NCEL League Cup in memory of James Hitchcock whilst the Division One title chase is down to two teams following the midweek action.Beverley denied Premier Division champions
Silsden AFC a chance of the double as Cameron Connelly's injury time strike grabbed them a 3-2 home win over the Cobbydalers.
Earlier, they had taken a 2-0 first half lead through Edward Birch and Connelly's first of the evening before the visitors pulled back level in the second period with Thomas Greaves and Robbie Fox restoring parity.
But, a late winner means it will be the Beavers who will take on Knaresborough for the trophy at Scunthorpe United's Attis Arena at the start of May.
In Division One,
Wakefield AFC and
Wombwell Town needed to avoid defeat in their midweek game in hand over leaders
Horbury Town to keep themselves in with a chance of lifting the title at the weekend.
But, Wakefield fell by the wayside, Christopher Salt with a late consolation, but an Ashley Flynn double, one from the penalty spot, means they were beaten 2-1 at home by
Maltby Main and are now four points off the summit with one game to play.
Wombwell, though, were 2-0 victors at
Harrogate Railway Athletic, Jock Curran and Jack Dando with their goals, to move them to within a point of the leaders, making it a two horse race when they and Horbury play their final league matches of the season on Saturday.
Elsewhere, there were away wins for
Club Thorne Colliery and
Louth Town with Louis Seddons and Harry Brown netting for Colliery as they beat
Athersley Recreation 2-0.
And, Harvey Lidgard's brace earned Louth a 3-2 victory at
Glasshoughton Welfare, Adam Millson with their opener whilst Liam Flanagan and Alexander Clarke had scored for the hosts.
The final Premier Division game of the season was played with
Handsworth consolidating their seventh spot as they beat visitors
Knaresborough Town 4-1.
Brandon Bagley's first half strike was added to after the interval by Scott Ruthven, Mitchell Dunne and Jonathan Froggatt with Jack Lazenby dispatching a late spot kick for the away side who end the campaign in twelfth.
Meanwhile,
Campion's season has come to an end as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Route One Rovers in the Semi-Finals of the West Riding County Cup, Michael O'Brien with their goal in the defeat to their North West Counties League visitors.
