Worsbrough Bridge Athletic caused an upset to keep the NCEL Division One flag flying in this year's JCP Construction League Cup as they beat Premier Division visitors Golcar United in their Third Round tie in midweek.

Harry Spooner, fresh from making a move from Goole AFC earlier in the day, grabbed the only goal of the tightly-fought encounter in the 27th minute to send Lee Morris' side through to the last eight where they will be the only representative left from their division.

Hallam joined them in the next stage, meanwhile, after their 2-1 home win over Barton Town, Brandon Bradbury breaking the deficit early on before Rio Allan doubled the Countrymen's advantage on the hour mark and Thomas Waudby gave the away side a consolation as the game moved towards stoppage time.

In the Premier Division, Thackley's comfortable 5-1 win at Campion lifts them up to fourth in the table, Liam Hudson, Finn Donovan and Ben Grech-Brooksbank giving them a 3-1 lead by the interval with Aidan Day's equaliser turning out to be the only goal of the evening for the hosts.
