Bottesford Town reached the Second Round Qualifying stage for the first time whilst Hallam joined them after a fantastic comeback in their tie as seven NCEL clubs returned to Emirates FA Cup action at the weekend.Bottesford progressed courtesy of a 1-0 home victory over Loughborough Students, Luke Ayris with the history-making goal in the 51st minute for the Poachers as they dumped out their Pitching In Northern Premier League visitors.
The Countrymen, meanwhile, had to take a more circuitous route as they fell 2-0 behind after just sixteen minutes at Ebac Northern League side Newcastle Blue Star.
But, Danny South brought Hallam back level with a quickfire double at the start of the second period before Calum Ward pounced for an 83rd minute winner to claim a 3-2 victory that sent the travelling support into raptures.
Campion could still join them in the next round after a 1-1 draw at home to Blyth Spartans in a match that was broadcast live by the BBC.
Zak Khan's 70th minute opener threatened a major upset against a side two divisions above them in the National League System.
But, a quick equaliser for the visitors means it ended honours even and Campion now travel to Northumberland for a replay on Wednesday night.
Barton Town,
Tadcaster Albion and
Thackley bowed out against higher-ranked opposition, losing 1-0 at home to Rugby Town, 3-0 to visitors Macclesfield and 4-0 at Warrington Rylands, respectively.
And, despite goals from Casey Stewart and Kayle Price,
Silsden AFC were beaten 4-2 at North West Counties League hosts West Didsbury & Chorlton.
In league action,
Penistone Church have returned to the top of the Premier Division after a 4-2 win at
Frickley Athletic.
Jack Varley gave the home side a third minute lead but it was cancelled out by Nathan Keightley before Samuel Scrivens' strike and a Jack Cairney own goal meant Church were 3-1 up by the hour mark.
A Mackenzie Stocks own goal on 89 minutes brought Frickley back to within touching distance of their opponents but Keightley's second in stoppage time ensured victory for the visitors.
Parkgate climb to sixth after Ross Duggan's seventeenth minute strike secured them a 1-0 win at fifth-placed
Handsworth.
Winterton Rangers and
Knaresborough Town both picked up vital 2-1 home victories that they will hope will kickstart their league campaigns as they climb to fifteenth and sixteenth, respectively.
James Dean-Atkinson and Harvey Graves were the scorers for Rangers as they defeated
Pickering Town, Samuel Calvert with the Pikes' goal.
Meanwhile, a Cameron Bedford double helped Knaresborough to their win over
Rossington Main who pulled one back through Manasse Kianga.
And,
Albion Sports claimed their first league victory of the season as Sumaili Cisse and Tabish Hussein added to an earlier own goal as they beat visitors
Eccleshill United 3-1 in Friday night's game.
The top two in Division One also met on Friday and a tight match between
Horbury Town and
Wombwell Town ended goalless as Wombwell's perfect start to the season came to an end after eight games.
Dearne & District leapfrog Horbury into second, five points off the summit, as they won 1-0 at
Athersley Recreation, Regan Kelly with decider just before the interval.
Jonathan Oglesby and Daniel North netted for
Brigg Town who climb into fourth following their 2-0 home victory over
Club Thorne Colliery.
The Zebras go above
Ilkley Town who drop to fifth after they were beaten 3-1 at home by
Wakefield AFC, James Eyles' double added to by Mason Rubie for the visitors whilst Toby Marriott got on the scoresheet for the Baht'atters from the penalty spot.
First half strikes from Lewis Shillito and Regan Waite earned
Armthorpe Welfare a 2-1 win over visitors
Dronfield Town.
They move up into sixth spot above Athersley as well as
South Leeds and
Swallownest who were beaten on their travels.
South Leeds lost 4-1 at
Maltby Main, Benjamin Agu with their consolation after an Ashley Flynn brace and one each for Luke Walker and Wade Ripley made sure of a deserved victory for the Miners.
And,
Louth Town were the defeaters of Swallownest as Reece Southwood and Adam Millson scored in a 2-0 home win for the White Wolves.
Craig Billington's last-gasp spot kick snatched
Shelley a 1-1 draw at
Nostell Miners Welfare whilst Owen Birks' late leveller grabbed the same result for
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic at
Harrogate Railway Athletic.
Meanwhile, Matthew Dawes and Harry Clapham struck for
Selby Town in the Robins' 2-0 home victory over
Yorkshire Amateur.
