Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2017/18 #58

11th March, 2018

Only two Toolstation NCEL matches took place on Saturday as heavy overnight rain falling on pitches still recovering from recent heavy snowfall caused the postponement of nineteen games in the League Cup, Premier Division and Division One.

Both fixtures were in Division One and resulted in home wins that enabled Rossington Main and AFC Emley to climb the table.

Main are up to ninth after a 2-0 defeat of visitors Retford United with Lee Holmes opening the scoring after ten minutes before Andrew Walkden made sure of the points with five minutes remaining to reward the home side who had worked very hard to make sure the game could go ahead.

And, Emley went one better as they beat Shirebrook Town, 3-0, racing into a two goal lead in the opening quarter-of-an-hour through Jordan Townend and Curtis Roberts.

They added the third soon after the start of the second period with Alex Slack making sure of the points that move them up to twelfth.
