The unpredictable chase for the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title took another twist on Saturday as Tadcaster Albion won the top-of-the-table clash to move back to the summit.The Brewers are now a point in front of
Handsworth Parramore with a game in hand after beating them 5-2 at the i2i Stadium.
Jon Froggatt had put the visitors ahead on eleven minutes but Tadcaster quickly levelled through Josh Greening and then his second and a Tom Corner penalty had the home side 3-1 up by the interval.
Corner then got his second and Tadcaster's fourth before Simon Harrison brought Handsworth back into the game but Greening completed his hat-trick to seal the points in front of 631 spectators.
Cleethorpes Town,
Bridlington Town and
Worksop Town all won to keep their title aspirations alive with only six points separating the top five sides.
Luke Mascall struck twice whilst there were also goals for Marc Cooper and Laurence McKay as Cleethorpes won 4-0 at
Brigg Town, Bridlington were 5-2 victors over visitors
Retford United with Chris Jenkinson and Brett Agnew getting two each for the Seasiders whilst Conor Higginson struck the only goal of the game as
Worksop Town prevailed at home to
Nostell Miners Welfare.
That defeat for Nostell almost certainly condemns them to a relegation place as they are now eight points away from safety with three games to play.
Liversedge remain next-to-bottom after their 1-0 home loss to
Pickering Town, Sam Calvert with the goal on 18 minutes, and
Pontefract Collieries are in the drop zone after they went down 5-2 at home to
Thackley, Ryan Farrell with a brace for the visitors.
They replace
Parkgate who won 2-1 at home to
Garforth Town, Alex Lill with what proved to be the winner towards the end of the first half as his side climbed up to seventeenth, going above Pontefract, Brigg and
Armthorpe Welfare who drew 2-2 at home to

In the day's other top flight action, there was a hat-trick for Liam Morris as

Maltby Main's goals in a 2-2 draw at
Staveley Miners Welfare and
Clipstone went down 2-0 at
Athersley Recreation, a vital win for the home side to put some daylight between themselves and those fighting for survival.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare's hopes of clinching the Division One title on Saturday with a victory were dashed when their trip to
Lincoln Moorlands Railway was called off as the bottom-placed home side were unable to field a team.
