20th March, 2016
Handsworth Parramore were in seventh heaven in the Premier Division title race whilst Lincoln Moorlands Railway were confirmed to finish in the relegation zone in Division One on another dramatic Saturday in the Toolstation NCEL.
Parramore remain two points clear at the summit after a Kieran Wells hat-trick helped them to a 7-1 home pummelling of Athersley Recreation, Alex Rippon, Simon Harrison, Jon Froggatt and Connor Smythe also getting on the scoresheet whilst Adam Podmore had netted for the visitors to give them some hope with a 33rd minute equaliser.
Second-placed Tadcaster Albion opened up a six point gap to third as they also won comfortably, 5-0 at next-to-bottom Nostell Miners Welfare with Josh Greening's double added to by Andrew Milne, Nick Black and Carl Stewart.
A brace each for Daniel Trott and Caine Winfarah moved Cleethorpes Town up into third spot, courtesy of a 4-0 victory at home to Pontefract Collieries who drop into the bottom three.
The Owls climbed above Bridlington Town and Worksop Town who both drew, Will Waudby rescuing a point for Bridlington as they held hosts Rainworth Miners Welfare, 1-1, and, despite an early double from Conor Higginson, Worksop were denied victory by a last-gasp equaliser by Henry Gill for hosts Barton Town Old Boys as their match finished 2-2.
Liam Shepherd struck twice as Pickering Town consolidated sixth place with a 4-1 home defeat of Brigg Town who are now just hovering above the relegation zone after Armthorpe Welfare leapfrogged over them with three vital points in their bid for survival.
There were two goals each for Mathew Semley, Darren Mansaram and Richard Smith as Armthorpe beat hosts Retford United, 6-0.
Basement side Liversedge came very close to claiming their first away league win of the season but an injury-time Steve Hopewell equaliser saw the spoils shared at Maltby Main, 2-2, and Sedge remain six points away from safety but with seven games in hand of Brigg.
Ryan Farrell's hat-trick helped Thackley to a 5-3 home win over Staveley Miners Welfare after they had gone 3-0 down in the opening twenty minutes and George Milner got both of Clipstone's goals in their 2-2 draw at Garforth Town.
In Division One, AFC Emley won 3-0 at home to runaway leaders Hemsworth Miners Welfare to keep their own automatic promotion hopes very much alive, Ashley Flynn opening the scoring before Ruben Jerome and Kieran Ryan secured the victory.
Emley, though, stay fourth and four points away from the top two after 2-0 home victories for both AFC Mansfield and Bottesford Town.
Phil Buxton and Grant Allott scored for Mansfield against Eccleshill United whilst Wayne Graves and Josh Nichols found the net for Bottesford at Teversal's expense.
A quickfire double from Jake Currie helped Shirebrook Town to a 3-1 win over visitors Selby Town and the Langwith Road side are up to fifth, going above Hull United who were without a game.
Penistone Church head the play-off chasing pack in seventh after their 4-2 home defeat of Westella VIP, jumping over Hallam who drew 2-2 at home to Grimsby Borough, Michael Blythen getting both of the hosts' goals.
Moorlands can now no longer finish outside the relegation zone as their 6-0 home loss to Winterton Rangers condemned them to a bottom two place at the end of the season, Rhys Vazquez, Joel Shortland, Leigh Hutchinson, Jake Rotherham, Jamie Coulson and Josh Batty sharing the goals around for the visitors.
Rossington Main went down 2-1 at home to Dronfield Town in a dramatic match where all three goals came in second half stoppage time and the defeat leaves Main six points clear of Worsbrough Bridge Athletic who are next-to-bottom.
Fraser Lancaster scored four as Knaresborough Town cantered to a 5-0 victory at Glasshoughton Welfare and there was a goalless draw between Hall Road Rangers and Yorkshire Amateur at Haworth Park.
