Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2015/16 #57
2nd March, 2016
Handsworth Parramore missed out on a chance to go top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division whilst Hemsworth Miners Welfare stretched their lead in Division One to fourteen points in what was a truncated midweek fixture list due to bad weather.
Handsworth are now a point behind Tadcaster Albion having played one game more following their 1-1 draw at home to fifth-placed Cleethorpes Town, Gareth Griffiths levelling for the hosts on 41 minutes after Brody Robertson had given the visitors the breakthrough on the quarter-of-an-hour mark.
Hemsworth, meanwhile, were 3-1 winners against Hull United, Nash Connolly putting them ahead at the end of the first period, Jason Yates' penalty then doubling their advantage after the interval before Gary Bradshaw brought Hull back into it and a late own goal settled matters to Hemsworth's advantage.
Hull drop out of the play-off zone with Hallam replacing them in sixth spot after a 2-0 home win over Teversal, Steve Brammer's early penalty added to on the hour mark by Michael Blythen.
Staveley Miners Welfare are through to the Fourth Round of the League Cup after Kieran Watson and Adam Scott got on the scoresheet in their 2-1 victory at Garforth Town with Gregg Kidd getting an 88th minute consolation for the hosts.
And, Rainworth Miners Welfare were knocked out of the Notts Senior Cup at the Semi-Final stage, losing 2-0 at Evo-Stik League side Basford United.
