Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2015/16 #50
7th February, 2016
Tadcaster Albion returned to the top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division as they grabbed a last-gasp 1-0 away victory for the second time in four days on Saturday.
The Brewers' trip to Bridlington Town was one of only three games in the league to survive heavy overnight rain and they made it count as Josh Greening netted in stoppage time to leapfrog his side over Worksop Town and Bridlington to the summit with games in hand over their two nearest rivals.
It capped a perfect week for Tadcaster who had also taken three points from their midweek trip to Pontefract Collieries.
In Division One, Shirebrook Town strengthened their grip on fourth spot with a 5-2 home win over Winterton Rangers.
Ryan Johnson put them ahead on seven minutes before Michael Hornby quickly levelled and Tom Roebuck restored the hosts' advantage by the quarter-hour mark.
Jake Currie made it 3-1 in first-half stoppage time, Paul Morrill netted a second for the visitors early in the second period and Johnson and Roebuck then completed the scoring in the last half-hour.
And, Penistone Church are up to seventh after a 4-0 win at Rossington Main, Danny Barlow and Danny Howes giving them a two goal cushion by the interval before the points were confirmed in the second half by Lewis Dickinson and Oliver Fearon.
Meanwhile, on Friday night, the Premier Division clash between Nostell Miners Welfare and Garforth Town finished goalless with the home side staying eighteenth whilst the visitors moved up one place to fourteenth.
