Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2015/16 #47

28th January, 2016

Hat-tricks for Matthew Booth and Adam Ward helped Toolstation NCEL Premier Division leaders Worksop Town to an 8-1 home win over Garforth Town in midweek to stretch their advantage to four points.

Tom Elliott and Kyle Jordan also netted late on for the Tigers whilst the visitors' consolation goal came from George Conway to level the scores in the opening ten minutes.

Albion Sports are up to sixth after their 3-1 win at Rainworth Miners Welfare, Marcus Edwards making the breakthrough on 21 before Matthew Sykes quickly equalised for the hosts but Alex Cusack restored their advantage by the interval and Edwards grabbed his second as the game moved towards stoppage time.

The Lions go above Clipstone who were beaten 3-2 at Brigg Town, a win that moves the Zebras out of the relegation zone, Luke Anderson with the winner on 86 minutes after the Cobras had come back from two goals down.

And, Ryan Carroll scored a hat-trick and there was a brace for Cameron Rigby as Maltby Main won 5-2 at Pontefract Collieries.

In Division One, second placed AFC Mansfield moved to within two points of leaders Hemsworth Miners Welfare as they won 5-0 at home to Hall Road Rangers, their scoring started by a thirteenth minute penalty that was converted by keeper Jason White, his first goal of his career.

Ryan Williams added a second before Craig Mitchell's double either side of half-time and a Grant Allott strike on the hour made it a comfortable victory.

Hallam and Penistone Church both missed out on chances to move into the play-off zone as they were beaten at home.

Ryan Poskitt's goal on 65 minutes secured Glasshoughton Welfare a 3-2 win at Hallam whilst Danny Norton struck in injury time as Selby Town won a remarkable game, 5-4 at Penistone where the home side came from 4-2 down at half-time to be level with nine minutes remaining.

Bottom side Lincoln Moorlands Railway ended a 22 match losing streak with a 3-1 victory at the team just above them, Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, Josh Schofield with two of their goals and Alex Mackinder with their third before the hosts pulled one back through Matt Jacobs, and Moorlands are now eight points behind Worsbrough but have played seven games more.

Yorkshire Amateur were 4-1 winners at Westella VIP, Chris Hitchings, Joel Hughes, Kaydon Fishley and Tom Marsden with their goals.

And, Tadcaster Albion made it through to the Fourth Round of the League Cup, beating hosts Parkgate, 3-1, Conor Sellars and Adam Baker putting them two up by the eleventh minute, Jake Ashton halved the deficit early in the second period but the victory was assured late on by Jonathan Greening.
