Points deductions for App-Frod and Dronfield
17th March, 2025
The Northern Counties East Football League can confirm that two Division One teams have had points deducted following recent disciplinary hearings.
Appleby Frodingham were found guilty of playing Dean McCarthy in their league match versus Armthorpe Welfare on 30th November, 2024, while the player was serving an FA ban from 'all football'. They have subsequently been deducted three points.
The case against Dronfield Town of playing Jake Hatton in two matches whilst unregistered with the league - v Wombwell Town on 21st December, 2024, and v Athersley Recreation on 18th January, 2025 - was found proven. Dronfield Town have also been deducted three points.
The NCEL will make no further statement on these cases and the Division One table will be adjusted for these deductions with immediate effect.
