Extreme weather protocol in force for this weekend's NCEL matches
9th January, 2025
In view of the current adverse weather conditions affecting the whole of the NCEL region and, with no significant increase in temperatures expected until after the weekend, the league have authorised the use of the extreme weather protocol for Friday and Saturday's matches.
The protocol states that, when the regional weather conditions are known to be extreme e.g. prolonged severe frost or heavy snow, then the game can be postponed at the discretion of the home club after consultation with the NCEL General Manager without the need for a pitch inspection by a suitably qualified Level 4 referee.
Under such circumstances, the earliest the decision can be made is the day prior to the scheduled date of the game whilst the latest is one hour prior to the time the visiting team are scheduled to commence their journey.
Please note that this protocol covers NCEL fixtures only.
Clubs playing in the Isuzu FA Vase this weekend must follow the guidance provided to them by the FA.
